Cheshta TaterCo-founder, Rightantra Being a high school-CBSE student in Mumbai is not easy. Getting a good and affordable tutor is just impossible. I believe finding a good tutor is an issue for many, regardless of the educational board that prescribes their syllabus. At one point, life revolves around tuition timings and homework. Indian entrepreneurs observed this and created a multi-billion marketplace we didn’t even realise we needed.

Cheshta TaterCo-Founder, Rightantra Maybe it is the area of study I am in or maybe it is my generation, that we talk about sex quite openly and plainly. Sex and sexuality are as old as mankind but I’m sure eyebrows will be raised for opening an article on a child rights platform with this subject. While most readers would choose to read further to see what I have to say, some people will only continue reading it in the hope of some “spicy” content. Some will read further so they can criticise. At the end of the day, sex sells.
Khadija HetavkarContent Writer (Legal), Rightantra The COVID-19 pandemic has affected every aspect of our life and thrown us all into uncharted territory marred with unpredictability and loss. Every sector and individual has suffered, including school-going children. Nearly 1.26 billion children worldwide have been impacted by school closures due to the pandemic. India’s student population alone includes around 320 million of these affected learners.
The abrupt shift from face-to-face instruction to e-learning has been tumultuous at best. Anushka MehtaCo-Founder, Rightantra According to the 2011 Census, India’s population of 121.09 crore then, included 16.45 crore children aged between 0-6 years. Keeping in mind the large percentage of children forming a part of the total population, a number which has only grown in the last 10 years, it is so surprising that every 1 in 4 children of school going age has either dropped out of or is not enrolled in the formal schooling system. This showcases the lack of awareness and the carelessness of policymakers and parents alike. The importance that pre-primary and primary education has in the life a child cannot be stressed enough.
